Like many are speculating, I believe Colin Powell will resign in favour of Condoleezza Rice for Secretary of State. And, as everybody is predicting, Rehnquist will resign to start the process of moving in a new bunch of Supremes.

Ah yes, but do you believe that 2008 will find us with a Clinton/Rice race? I have heard this speculation from a couple news channels lately. I don't want to contemplate that election; this prior one was bad enough. "If the gods had wanted us to vote..." etc.

enjoy it while youre able. sooner or later a replacement is gonna appear and the only hope im permitting myself is rooted in the belief roy bean is still dead.

Bush has appointed White House legal counsel Alberto Gonzales as Attorney General (Link). Not quite as, ah, colourful as John Ashcroft, but certainly not a policy shift for the administration.
